The Storybox Collective [SBC] is a group of artists, designers and writers working with historic collections and archives to explore the potential of creative research through collaborative making. Since 2017, under the creative direction of founder Clare Conway—Designer and Senior Lecturer at Kingston School of Art—SBC has partnered with cultural heritage organisations to diversify their audiences by developing new work that reshapes and informs exhibition and engagement programmes.
Currently working with the National Trust at Ham House and Garden in Richmond, our previous collaborative projects include: ‘William Morris Wallpaper Man’ with The William Morris Society, ‘Finding Ways In’ with Glyndebourne Opera House in Sussex and ‘Storybox: Tales of Absence, ‘What Ifs’ and Salvation with Wilton’s Music Hall.
